CBS-- Trying to Drive a Nail in The Coffin?

CBS News reported on the state of Jumbo loans last night. They were explaining the credit crunch in Sub-Prime, Alt-A, and Jumbo loans. Here is a link to their story it will open in a new window.

 http://www.cbsnews.com/sections/i_video/main500251.shtml?id=3205112n

What is not included in the story is the editorial comment after this ran. The female newscaster/commentator said that buyers need to wait because prices may drop lower.

That was the most irresponsible comment that I have heard. If everyone waits prices will drop! This is just the basic law of supply and demand.

For a national newscaster to tell people to wait to buy because prices will drop is not instilling confidence in our economy. Employment is up, Interest rates are still low, there is a very good selection of homes to choose from. If you are a buyer now is the time to select the home you want to live in for the next few years.

I just wish that the newscasters would report the news and leave their personal comments out of it.

My Electric Company is Going Green

Just a comment from a Cincinnati realtor. My electric power service provider is now offering an option to go green. The power that you would purchase would be provided from renewable resources. They are willing to offer this service for a small fee.

For my power costs it would just about double my electric portion of my monthly bill. At what point do you put money before the efforts of a greener world? Is the electric company justified in doubling the cost of power to go green?

My Farm - My Neighborhood

I am afraid for my neighborhood. We are starting to see some fall out in the area. The homes were built 13-11 years ago and are mainly 4 bedroom' 2.5 bath, 2 car garage. Currently there are 3 lender owned homes on the market. There is a home that a lender owns that is still undergoing title work and is not on the market yet. This month there have been 3 foreclosures filed on homes in the neighborhood. This is in a subdivision of 350 homes.

There are people that need to sell their current homes and move on. I will just market the homes strongly so we can them done before much more happens.

Make a Difference Day

October, 27, 2007 is make a difference day. The town of Trenton Ohio has always had a great turn out for this community involvement project. Please see if you can take some time out of one day to make a differece in someones life.

A Small Town With a Big Heart  Since the year 2000, hundreds of Butler County citizens have joined the City of Trenton every 4th Saturday in October to make a difference in their community.  This year more than 400 volunteers participated in 12 different projects impacting virtually everyone in town.  These acts of kindness reflect the city's motto, "A Small Town With a Big Heart."  Volunteers collected toys, blankets, and personal hygiene items for abused and neglected children; conducted a blood drive; painted city park equipment and storm sewers; built a playground; raked yards for elderly and disabled residents; and much, much more!

Government Freedom of Information

In Liberty Township Ohio sometimes you have to wonder what is going on. The Trustees are looking out for our best interests but it would be good to know what is happening. We have just applied for Limited Home Rule and the meeting minutes are getting rather thin. Here is the repoert on a meeting that was held in July. If you click on it it will open in a new window.

I just love the information presented by these records of what our public officials are doing on our behalf.

Anyone else feel the same way?
